EXT: TYPICAL 70'S HIGH SCHOOL - DAY
Large metal gas guzzlers in the parking lot.
INT: CLASSROOM - DAY
The students are busy writing down their last words anticipating
the final bell.
The students place their pens down and jump into a quiet Chatter,
while JOHN a typical, nothing special kid seems to be daydreaming away.
Mr. Angielo walks student to student picking up test papers.
He reaches John's desk, picks up his test paper and looks at it.
John glances up at Mr. Angielo, who's reading his test paper.
Very nice. You should consider a writing career John.
An invisible smile flashes on John's face.
Eight years later

What are your plans?
I'll write my book eventually but for now I will be
teaching tennis. I had an offer in Chicago, but
Jacksonville won out.
They both let out simultaneous laughs as they look outside with the snow still falling.
I'm sure you'll do fine. but just in case
This letter of recommendation might come
He Hands John the letter, and they shake hands.
Three Years Later
EXT: SMALL SHOPPING CENTER PARKING LOT - NIGHT
Two police cars with their lights spinning.
The officers walk out of Econo-Wash Laundromat making a final inspection
at the broken windows.
A disgusted and disillusioned John and his wife JACKIE wait for their findings.
We dusted the place for prints and it looks like
a dryer was also broken into besides the

EXT: SMALL SHOPPING CENTER - DAY
A photographer and a reporter stands in front of J&J Juice Bar interviewing
John and Jackie.
Why here, why now and a Juice bar?
The mom and pop, small local establishments are the wave of the
future and will be an alternative to the oversize conglomerates,
and of course everyone will be fruit juicing, especially when they taste
our unique recipes.
Two years Later
INT: JOHN AND JACKIE'S BEDROOM - NIGHT
Jackie sits on the edge of the bed while John lays on his side with his back to Jackie.
J&J needs to be at the beaches, that's where the
healthy crowd's at.
And the rent's three times what we're paying now.
John rolls over towards Jackie.
Yeah, come to bed honey.

I don't want to open up another retail store.
But the neighbors are complaining, the city will
fine us up the wazoo if they come out to inspect.
INT: JOHN AND JACKIE'S LIVING ROOM - DAY
Jackie watches John open a box.
It's a 286SX computer, the wave of the future.
In a couple of years everyone will own one.
Jackie throws a what about now look at John, who's too busy looking for the on switch.
I can publish a newsletter now. Plenty of niche markets
out there you know.
Jackie silently approves as John finds the on switch, and the screen comes on.
BACK to John and Jackie looking at the dark blank screen.
Three Years Later
INT: JOHN AND JACKIE'S BEDROOM - NIGHT
Jackie sits at the edge of the bed, while John stands by the door.
The newsletter's dead. Publishing
it on floppy disk will not work.
There's this thing called the Internet,
I think it's the future.
Jackie's silence can stop a black hole from spinning.
I want to create a tennis league and put it
on the Internet. Make it easy and flexible for players to
find each other.
Twenty six Years Later, 2007

A gasp of air escapes Johns lungs, letting out a painful sarcastic chuckle.

He opens the front door and looks back at his WIFE sitting on the couch.
Will there ever be a day when you tell me the truth?

Then turns his head toward his RV in the driveway, walks out and slowly closes the door to his home of the last twenty two years.
BACK TO JANUARY 2009
He turns on the radio and quickly turns it off.
He spots another Rialta RV heading East and smiles.
EXT: GARDEN STATE PARKWAY, NJ - REST STOP - DAY
He and his wife are locked in an embraced, sobbing, unwilling to let go of each other.
The house will sell soon, I'll get settled and we'll be cruising in Jacksonville by the end of the summer.
They try to regain their composure, but the tears have no end.
She watches him get in his stuff filled car.
She follows him on the highway.
She takes the exit as he continues on south waving his arm out the window.
EXT: RV IN ARIZONA DESERT - DAY
INT: John's RV
John types THE END. He stands up and rushes outside.
EXT: ARIZONA DESERT
He enthusiastically dials a number on his cell phone.
I just finished the first draft of Treasure Gordon.
And we're here 7 years later. So many things have happened, not happened and about to happen.
